Emily Friesen
interpretive planner, writer, content developer
From cleaning toilets to handling 500 year-old Chinese pottery, I’ve not done it all, but I’ve come close. In my 10 years of working in the museum and heritage sector, I have experience with exhibition design and interpretive planning, collections and conservation, exhibition installations, delivering education programs, planning and managing public events, liaising with film crew in historic buildings, and providing front-line interpretation via formal tours and casual chats.
Pairing this experience with a master’s degree in museum studies and a diploma in cultural resource management, I’m able to think holistically to find creative – and sometimes unexpected – solutions to every new opportunity.
I love working with multi-disciplinary teams to transform information into stories that capture the imagination. I am endlessly fascinated about the world around me; my goal in every project is to spark this same kind of curiosity and awe in visitors.

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded… There’s only one rule that I know of, babies – ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’”
– Kurt Vonnegut
